Procter & Gamble, or P&G, is the world’s largest consumer products company with sales of $84 billion in 180 countries around the world. Its extensive portfolio of household beauty, health, laundry, and baby care products includes brands like Tide, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, Pantene, Duracell, Crest, and Iams.

P&G’s $90 million distribution facility was developed by Prologis Logistics Services, Inc. Previously identified by the codename “Project Walnut,” the 1.8 million square foot facility in Union is located on 140 acres in the Union Global Logistics Airpark. When operational, the facility will employ over 800 workers.

The access to air and highway transit system provided by the airpark made the P&G site ideal for a logistics and distribution center. In addition, the Montgomery County Port Authority and Transportation Improvement District (TID) will invest $11.5 million in infrastructure to service the facility.

Construction of the facility began in October 2013 with a projected completion date of early 2015. The facility will be staffed and operated by third-party logistics (3PL) companies Exel and Quality Associates.
